“Rufus”

A Little Bit About Rufus…

DucDogz Da Rufus On Fiya MH7 represents the qualities we value in an exceptional Labrador Retriever: natural athleticism, outstanding marking ability, a strong desire to work, and the temperament to transition seamlessly from the field to the home.

A proven Master Hunter with an impressive performance pedigree, Rufus is an exceptionally talented marking dog. He brings focus, intensity, and purpose to his work in the field, demonstrating the kind of natural ability and work ethic that make a retriever a pleasure to train and hunt over. When the work is done, Rufus has an equally valuable quality—a great off switch. He knows how to turn it on when it is time to work and settle in when it is time to relax.

That balance is important to us at Bourbon Country Retrievers. We value dogs that possess the drive and ability to perform at a high level without sacrificing the temperament and composure that make them enjoyable companions at home.

Bred by Mike Judas, Rufus comes from a deep, performance-driven pedigree featuring some of the most respected names in retriever competition, including AFC Ten Bear’s Road Trip MH, FC AFC Carolina’s Smoke On The Water, FC AFC Rebel Ridge Cody’s Mischief, and other accomplished field performers. His pedigree reflects generations of purposeful selection for athleticism, trainability, and working ability.

Rufus is chocolate with an EEbb coat genotype and a genetic background that combines influential black and chocolate performance lines. His pedigree offers substantial depth for breeders seeking to preserve and develop the qualities that define a capable, versatile hunting Labrador.

The Bourbon Country Standard

At Bourbon Country Retrievers, our philosophy extends beyond titles, color, and pedigree. We strive to produce Labradors with the natural ability to excel in the field, the intelligence and trainability to develop into reliable hunting partners, and the temperament to become valued members of the family.

Rufus exemplifies that balance. His exceptional marking, strong work ethic, proven accomplishments, and natural off switch represent the kind of versatility we appreciate in a Labrador Retriever.
