Every great breeding program has a female whose greatest accomplishments aren’t measured by ribbons or titles, but by the quality of the puppies she raises. At Bourbon Country Retrievers, that female is Oakley.

A stunning dark chocolate female with beautiful breed type, exceptional structure, and a classic Labrador expression, Oakley immediately captures your attention. She inherited the athleticism, intelligence, and natural marking ability of her sire, GRHRCH Gator Point’s My My Boogie Shoes MH16, along with the wonderful disposition and maternal instincts that have made her such an important part of our breeding program.

Oakley is backed by an exceptional pedigree built on generations of proven performance retrievers. Through her sire, she carries the influence of the legendary ‘96 NFC AFC Storm’s Riptide Star, the only chocolate National Field Champion in history, along with Gator Point’s Gimme Some Lovin MH QAA, FC AFC Rippin’ Blue Thunder, FC AFC Carolina’s Smoke On The Water, GRHRCH Pirate’s Myle High Booty MH QAA, and numerous Field Champions, Amateur Field Champions, Grand Hunting Retriever Champions, and Master Hunters. Her dam’s pedigree adds another generation of accomplished hunting and performance dogs, giving Oakley an outstanding genetic foundation built on intelligence, trainability, athleticism, and sound temperament.

Oakley showed exceptional natural talent from an early age. She possessed excellent marking ability, tremendous athleticism, and the natural instincts every retriever should have. Like many talented dogs, she also had an independent personality and occasionally preferred doing things her own way. After carefully evaluating her strengths, we made the decision to transition her from competition into our breeding program—a decision that has proven to be one of the best we have ever made.

As a breeding female, Oakley has exceeded every expectation. She has become one of the finest mothers we have ever owned. Her maternal instincts are second to none, and she raises her puppies with remarkable patience, attentiveness, and care. She is calm, nurturing, protective, and completely devoted to every litter she produces.

Beyond the whelping box, Oakley has become one of our kennel favorites. She is exceptionally clean, easy to manage, affectionate with people, and gets along beautifully with every dog in the kennel. Those same qualities have consistently carried through to her puppies, who are proving to be intelligent, confident, highly trainable Labrador Retrievers with wonderful temperaments.
