A Little Bit About Derby…
HRCH Bourbon Country’s 1st Sat In May “Derby”, the dog that started it all! Derby was
the first pup in our kennel and the inspiration to start our own company. Derby is a
stunning chocolate female with a fantastic pedigree and strong performance record.
Derby is sired by HRCH (1 Grand Pass) UH Flatwood’s Preacher Man MH MNH HOF
and out of HR Barren’s Run Forest Run Gump SH. With a pedigree that contains several
top producing chocolates (FC AFC Drake, FC AFC Pirate, and FC AFC Ryder MH),
Derby has excelled as a competitor. As a hunt test dog Derby went 4/4 in HRC finished
tests as a young two-year-old to obtain her HRCH title. Derby moved on to focus on her Master title and went 6 for 7 on the way to earning her title. (she passed 6 straight in 2022 after failing her first test in 2021.) Derby is a very nice marking dog with tons of athleticism and drive. Derby loves to please, making her a breeze to train. Derby has a very loving attitude and is a pleasure to be around whether it be hanging around in the house or in the hunting blind.

Derby was named after the famous thoroughbred horse race, The Kentucky Derby which happens annually on the first Saturday in May!
